Domaine du Château la Grave dans le Languedoc

Château la Grave

Jean-François Orosquette practices sustainable winemaking on the grounds of Château La Grave. Simple common sense before being a philosophy as he says himself. Built on gravelly terrain in the heart of the Minervois appellation, the estate's vines provide quality grapes over nearly 95 hectares between Carcassonne and Narbonne. The smell of resinous trees intertwined with the flavors of scrubland, all bathed in rich sunshine, nestled between pine forest and wild land near the charming village of Badens, Château La Grave benefits from privileged conditions here.

  • Winemaking

Vinification is done by punching down with a long maceration then aging in oak barrels for 12 months.

  • Tasting notes

Black and dense color with purple reflections. Nose of cherry, spices and vanilla, then on the finish we find notes of red fruits, cocoa and violet. Soft, round and fruity on the palate.
